Grilled Peaches with Fresh Honey

Fresh fruit with local, raw, real honey. It doesn't get much better than that. Since grilling the peaches brings out the full flavour of the fruit, you will want to get your hands on in-season ripe peaches, if you can.

The thing I love about grilled peaches with honey is you can add whatever you want to it and I promise you it will taste good. We whipped up some cream and topped it with fresh blueberries and mint leaves which made it look so good I almost couldn't eat it. But when you start smelling those grilled peaches and see how juicy and tender they are, you really can't help yourself. If you want to get all fancy, try making your own meringue and using that as the base!

Peaches are fat-free and sodium-free and are a good source of Vitamin A and C so this "dessert" is a non-guilty one! I'm convinced grilling anything makes it taste better. Seriously, try something you would never think to BBQ and tell me I'm wrong.

Ok. So please experience this recipe, whether it's in the summer on a BBQ or on a stovetop grill in the cooler winter months. We love our cast iron griddle we bought months ago (because we literally want to grill everything ) This one is similar and a great price at Canadian Tire.

I N G R E D I E N T S :

• 2 large ripe peaches

• 2 tbsp honey

• Handful of blueberries

• 1 tbsp of olive oil

• Homemade whip cream, ice cream or yogurt

• Mint leaves

D I R E C T I O N S :

Preheat Grill to high. Cut peaches in half and peal out the pit. Brush peaches with olive oil and place on grill, cut side down. Grill for about 3 minutes or until golden brown and grill marks begin to form. Turn peaches over and grill on opposite side for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and place on top of whip cream, ice cream or yogurt. Top with fresh blueberries and mint leaves. Drizzle with Wildflower Honey Collective liquid honey!

  • If you have a big sweet tooth, try sprinkling brown sugar over the peaches after you cut them and then drizzle with honey.

  • We used whipped cream to place the peaches on, but you can also use plain greek yogurt, or ice cream.

  • If you have our cinnamon creamed honey you can substitute the liquid honey by spreading the cinnamon one on the peaches when they are just about finished on the grill.
